By using the toolbar, you can easily access various convenient features. Let's look at them one by one.

In 3D mode, after clicking a product and selecting the \[...] More button, you can use the 2D projection feature.\
This feature automatically aligns the product to one of six basic views (front view, back view, left side view, right side view, top view, bottom view).

| View name           | Description                                                        |

## Grouping furniture

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Multiple selection

Multiple selection is possible in both 2D and 3D modes.\
You can select multiple products at once to use functions such as move, align, and array placement.\
It is efficient because you can easily manipulate multiple products at once without moving them one by one.

**Shift + drag (select a wide area at once)**

* Using this method, you can drag and select multiple products at once.\
  All products within the area dragged with the mouse are selected at once, making it useful when moving or rotating multiple products at the same time.

**Shift + click (select only the products you want)**

* While holding Shift, click the products you want one by one with the mouse, and you can select only the products you want.\
  If you click an already selected product again, it will be deselected, so you can accurately choose only the products you want to work with.

![](/files/9fc908ebca2225a6be848be0c63ad1c399e62697)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Group

Shortcut: Ctrl + G. You can manage multiple products at once by grouping them.\
After multi-selecting the desired products, click the \[Group] button in the toolbar and the products will be grouped into one.\
Now you can move or rotate this group at once.

![](/files/5e41fa6d9ab29091ce8add37664f5a849c7fc27d)

{% hint style="info" %}
You can also group already grouped products into another group.\
You can create nested groups and manage groups of groups, groups of groups of groups, and so on all at once, making it even more efficient!
{% endhint %}

#### **Ungroup**

Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + G. If you want to manage grouped products individually, click the \[Ungroup] button.

![](/files/d48c1c60bd959e2b83be392c9dd58f50ce695088)

**Shortcut**

| Function                                                                          | Shortcut              |
| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |
| Multiple selection (when you want to select a wide area at once) | Shift + drag |
| Multiple selection (when you want to click and select only the products you want) | Shift + click product |
| Group                                                                             | Ctrl + G              |
| Ungroup                                                                           | Ctrl + Shift + G      |
| {% endstep %}                                                                     |                       |
| {% endstepper %}                                                                  |                       |

## Align furniture

Alignment can be used in both 2D and 3D modes.\
It helps you align furniture neatly and easily, and when you multi-select products, alignment icons appear in the toolbar.\
Select the alignment function you want and apply it.

1. Vertical alignment

* Top alignment
* Middle alignment
* Bottom alignment

2. Horizontal alignment

* Left alignment
* Center alignment
* Right alignment

![](/files/b311481a2d577f003a0e794f9e870e3d2c669485)

* Top alignment
* Middle alignment
* Bottom alignment

![](/files/b8972255c706c8a102ecb72b834d81231b34a6f9)

## Replace product

If you multi-select products and click the \[Replace Product] button that appears in the group details, you can choose similar products from the furniture library on the left.\
Using this feature, you can replace the selected product with a new one in the exact same location.\
Also, in the \[Group Details] on the right, you can check how many of the same products are placed.

Don't worry even if no recommended products are available and the message 'No products available' appears.\
If you press the back button and find and select the product you want again, it will be replaced in the same location as the existing product.

![](/files/2ddc247330ca3171193755fee57836bb37c77ad0)

{% hint style="info" %}
If you have placed multiple identical products, it is much more convenient to click the \[Select Same Product] button to select all products at once and then use the \[Replace Product] feature.
{% endhint %}

## Change position properties

Each product has a default position property.

For example:

* Products placed on the floor: rugs
* Products standing on the floor: chairs, tables
* Products attached to the ceiling: ceiling lights, ceiling fans
* Products attached to the wall: curtains, picture frames

In the editor, you can change this position property.\
After clicking a product, modify the position property in the product details on the right.\
For example, you can stage items such as standing a wall-mounted frame on the floor or replacing a wooden board attached to the ceiling with another decoration.

These changes apply only within that project, so feel free to try more flexible staging!

![](/files/9d268e411f4291f94eb00bbb8834a8ac1cdcedb9)

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Is there an easy tip for placing items on top of products?

I'll show you two methods.

1. **Enter height from the floor**

   When you want to place a prop on a table or cabinet, first check the height of the table or cabinet, and then place the prop.\
   Then, in the \[Height from Floor] field in the product details on the right, enter the same value as the furniture height, and the prop will be placed exactly on top of the table or cabinet.\
   Using this method, you can easily place items for staging!

![](/files/3d8422f0b4d25ece18a53da467f17952efd9250f)

2. **Use Hidden Line Mode**

   If you want to place items in the middle like on a bookshelf, or if the top surface of the product is too low and makes placement difficult, try using Hidden Line Mode.\
   When you turn on \[Display Mode - Hidden Line Mode] at the bottom of the editor, the outer surfaces of the product are shown as lines, making it easy to check the contact points with other products.\
   Now drag the green arrow and place it exactly against the surface of the other product.

### Can I bring furniture from the original project into a new floor plan?

In Archisketch editor, between projects, '**Room Copy**' and '**Copy furniture**' features can be used to bring the contents of a previous project into a new floor plan.\
See below for how to do it.

**Bring in the whole room**

* Open the new floor plan tab and the previous project floor plan tab at the same time.
* In the previous project floor plan, click and hold the floor of the room you want to copy, then press Ctrl+C to copy the room.
* Go to the new floor plan tab and press Ctrl+V to paste the room.
* Adjust the furniture positions in the room to fit the new floor plan.

**Bring in only furniture**

* Open the new floor plan tab and the previous project floor plan tab at the same time.
* With the furniture you want to bring in from the previous project selected, press Ctrl+C to copy the furniture.
  * Multiple furniture copy: You can hold Shift and drag to select the furniture you want.
* Go to the new floor plan tab and press Ctrl+V to paste the furniture.
* Adjust the positions of the pasted furniture to fit the new floor plan.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.archisketch.com/guide/user-en/arranging-furniture/furniture-placement.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
