CAD Upload (Image Conversion)

This feature is available only to some enterprise customers.

At Archisketch, if you upload a CAD file, we provide a feature that converts the drawing into an image for use.


Upload method

Proceed according to the steps below.

dxf file upload → (image conversion) → dimension input → background image upload → wall drawing

Step 1. Prepare the CAD file

  • Uploadable file formats: dwg, dxf, pdf

  • Size limit

    • dwg : 5 MB or less

    • dxf : 10 MB or less

  • Layer organization: Be sure to include wallin the layer name that represents the wall.

Step 2. Click [Drawing Upload → CAD Upload]

Please create a new project and select [CAD Upload].

Step 3. Set the drawing dimensions

After the file is converted into an image, enter the dimensions to match the scale of the drawing.

Step 4. Draw the floor plan

Based on the drawing converted into a background image, draw the walls and create your own space.


Upload error

We will guide you through possible errors that may occur during the upload process.

Error 1. Unable to Detect Wall Property

In the case of this error message, Wall componentif it is missing, this error can appear. For proper wall detection, be sure to include "wall"in the layer name that represents the wall.

Error 2. Unable to Convert File

In this error message, if it is not a compatible AutoCAD version or dwg there are issues with the file, so dxf it needs to be converted to dxf Please try again after converting to the extension.

Error 3. File Size Too Big

In this error message, there is a lot of unnecessary information in a single drawing or element. To solve this, you need to remove unnecessary drawings (3D CAD such as front views and side views) or remove furniture information other than walls, windows, and doors. dwg The file must be 5 MB or less and dxf the file must be 10 MB or less.

Error 4. CAD Import Timeout

Since this error message cannot be converted, if you send the drawing to Archisketch Channel Talk, we will work on a file that can be used.

Error 5. Does Not Support Except .dwg/dxf File Extension

In this error message, the extension of the uploaded file dwg or dxf is not. dwg or dxf Please retry with the file.

Error 6. Other Errors

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it impossible to upload the CAD file itself without using the image conversion method?

In addition to the image conversion method, there is also a feature that can directly recognize CAD files and automatically detect elements such as walls, windows, and doors. Please note that this feature is included in the paid service.
